For this project, I created “Navigating a New Workplace,” an activity where learners make decisions from three perspectives at a fictional wildlife rescue center. I enjoyed creating the scenarios and considering how each person’s choices could affect others.

Canvas was challenging to figure out, and I often had to look things up while building the course. Although I have used Canvas as a student, I had never worked on the instructor side before. Setting up the activities took some trial and error as I learned how the different features worked.

Grading my “students” was also difficult because I was unfamiliar with SpeedGrader. I needed time to understand how to review submissions and assign grades.

Overall, I really enjoyed this project. It helped me understand the work involved in creating an online course, and I hope to expand it with more scenarios and opportunities for learners to practice making workplace decisions.
